The roots.

The history of Winery (“Cantine”) Attanasio dates back in the XIX century, in the nowadays best area of wines of Salento.

It was 1870 when my grandfather Giovanni (John) rooted the first vineyard called “Marrazzo,”

Since then, Attanasio family has always tried to find the best outcoming of tradition and innovation in the deep care of the famous Primitivo vineyard, now at the forefront of the best wine in the world.





Technical facts

The total capacity of the winery is about 10,000 hectoliters, in stainless steel tanks and French oak barrels.

Our winemakers vertical 150 hectoliters, allow replacements with programmable délestage and oxygenation of the grape with scheduled cycles.

Our systems are the state-of-art; they are equipped with thermal control and management of all the stages of fermentation: this allows us to program and adapt the processing cycle to the various oenological requirements.

In our basement there is a room with bottling monoblock JHA and a separate large cellar for wine storage in steel silos of 50 hl, and barrels, Also wine aging in bottle in made in this basement.
